Life After Baby: Beginning My Journey as a Freelancer

Our baby is almost 5 months old and I’m finally starting to fit in some time for myself. I’ve been able to do yoga once a day with the FitStar Yoga app on iPad. What helped us was getting him in a schedule of eat-play-sleep. I’ll write a later post soon with a free download of a schedule maker I used that really helped me plan my days more efficiently.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what to do once my maternity leave ends. Being off for all these months has given me a better perspective on what I actually want to do with my life. I’ve been exploring more and more opportunities to work from home freelancing. I’ve always wanted to be a freelancer. I would like to get more into writing articles, blogging, copywriting, translating, drawing, etc. I feel I lack a bit of focus right now (and sleep). But before I get more into freelancing for money, I feel it’s important I start blogging again, even if it’s just a bit here and there. I’ve always struggled with being able to sit down ass in chair to write. I’ll have to train myself to do that on a regular basis again if I ever wanted to consider a career as a freelancer. There are so many inspiring bloggers out there that I follow. I love the girls from A Beautiful Mess, for example. If they can do it, so can I.
I’ve lined up a few blog post ideas. I have a book project to finish and another one to begin. How do you work-at-home moms find the inspiration and discipline to work from home?
